The most educated man in the New Testament wrote this:
“And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” (1 Cor. 2:4-5)
Without the demonstration of the SPIRIT and POWER of God people will continue to put their dependency on the wisdom of man. This is what has caused a great decline in much of Christendom in the last 2-3 decades. The demonstration of the Spirit and power of God was increasing in the last generation, but the wisdom of man crept in and demographics and the philosophies of men began to rule the Church. Messages for the sweet tooth and an attachment to pretty things prevailed. Now we are reaping the wages of those corrupt seeds that were sown.
Did you notice that the aforementioned verses speak of the demonstration of both the SPIRIT and of the POWER of God? These are two different things. Demonstration of the Spirit refers to the gifts of utterance and revelation, whereas the demonstration of the power speaks of the power gifts of the gifts of healings, working of miracles, and gift of faith.
In 1 Corinthians 14:26 it says this:
“ How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.”
Did you notice that in these Early Church meetings the power gifts were not in manifestation? Why? For one, I believe the power gifts are primarily for the world. Secondly, I believe there were no sick and diseased believers or saints among them. They possessed a revelation of their healing covenant and that healing is the children’s bread. There is a cause today as to why so many believers are sick (1 Cor. 11:29-31). We must look at these things carefully again.
Bert Farias' books are forerunners to personal holiness, the move of God and the return of the Lord. They also combat the departure from the faith and the turning away from the truth we are seeing in our day. His recent five-book bundle, written under a fresh anointing, is a forerunner of what the Lord is doing in His church today. His newest release, Turning Your Trials Into Gold, is a powerful testimony of how God raised up Bert and his wife Carolyn from a sick bed and near death.
