This article is an attempt to show the body of Christ how the modern prophetic movement and message of the gospel has gone off the rails. There is a deep sickness in the modern prophetic movement that will cost us dearly if we don’t learn to recognize the true gospel and true biblical prophetic function.
When you have top leaders and many believers in America waiting for a fulfillment of Bob Jones’ 2014 prophecy on how revival will supposedly follow the recent Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victories, there is a huge absence of discernment in the body of Christ. Even the Super Bowl commercials featuring Jesus ads and how He “gets us” fall far short of the real gospel we are to proclaim. Yet believers swallow it hook, line, and sinker.
So now we have reduced ourselves to waiting on the annual Super Bowl to understand what God is saying about revival and our nation? Geez! Jones’ prophecy also drew out faux revelation comparing the “Chiefs” to some kind of “Apostolic Chiefs” movement in the body of Christ. What have we become? True biblical prophetic function is not drawing out some kind of symbolism or spiritual significance from natural events, which seems to be a common error in the modern prophetic movement. And now to add to the symbolism, leaders and believers are emphasizing the number 3 — I guess to signify the trinity, —-and how the physical address of the recent Super Bowl was 3333 Al Davis Drive and quarterback Pat Maholmes had 333 passing yards, and it was the Chiefs 3rd Super Bowl. It is historically rare for natural events to carry such a great deal of this kind of numerical and prophetic significance.
THE JESUS ADS: ANOTHER GOSPEL, ANOTHER JESUS
I’ve also noted that the Super Bowl Jesus ads are just an appeal for America to relate to the humanity of Jesus. He gets us? Really? In what sense? All this is just a feeble, but equally fatal attempt, to portray Jesus as understanding our sin so we can continue in it. It’s a gospel of false comfort, not conviction.
Everyone in sin wants Jesus at a human level, but most don’t want a Jesus at a Deity level, a perfectly holy and righteous God in the flesh calling people out from their sins and into true repentance. He was fully God and fully Man and still is, but I’m afraid America has made Jesus into their own image and debased Him to a profane and common level.
To further magnify this deception, I’ve seen quite a few T-shirts lately and slogans that carry the same lame message — most of them defining Jesus as a “guy”, or equivalent to “the man upstairs”. This image is an irreverent view of Jesus and clearly a pagan concept.
His humanity is important simply so His sinlessness and atonement would be acceptable in the eyes of God and man.
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)
We can relate to Jesus’ humanity in the sense of Him being housed in a physical ‘flesh and bone body’ with physical needs and was tempted even as we are. But He overcame every temptation and was perfect and without sin, which many of us do not easily relate to. He qualified to be our Redeemer. He didn’t leave us in our sins but saved us from them. In that way He gets us. Unlike the commercial ads depict, Jesus did not come to wash the feet of sinners in their sins, but to take our sins upon Himself, forgive us, transform us, and give us power over sin.Thats the real gospel. That’s the real Jesus. That’s the real salvation.
Bert Farias’ books are forerunners to personal holiness, the move of God, and the return of the Lord. They also combat the departure from the faith and the turning away from the truth we are seeing in our day. The Real Salvation, The Real Gospel, and The Real Jesus are such books that deal with the falsehood and deception in modern Christendom today.
America is the MYSTERY BABYLON of the Book of Revelation and will be TOTALLY DESTROYED in a few short years. Born Again Christians should move out a.s.a.p.. The Lord God Jesus is our Witness.
You are right on target! This modern prophetic movement which now a days takes any natural occurrence they want and spin a prophecy on it is out of control… they really lack any true knowledge of God’s word! Keep on publishing the books and blogs… Few will bring many to the truth!!
