One of the great revelations I received from Rick Joyner’s book, The Final Quest, was that so many of the personalities among the great cloud of witnesses that Rick was given the privilege to meet, and whom he expected to be in the highest positions in heaven, were in the lowest.
Here are some nuggets of wisdom I gleaned from such encounters he had:
***The more influence that you gain by your own self-promotion, the more you must strive to retain your influence, and the more dark and cruel your life will become.
***If you preach the greatest truths but do not live them, you are only the greatest hypocrite, and the most tormented soul.
This is one of the reasons where at times I wish I was not in the ministry and did not possess this knowledge, although I thank God for the honor of preaching His Word.
*** Do not try to teach others to do what you, yourself, are not doing. If you do not live what you preach to others you disqualify yourself from the high calling of God.
*** You can only do God’s work when you are doing it with Him, and not just for Him.
***Anything that you do because of political pressures or opportunities, will only lead you to the end of your true ministry. is just to prove yourself to others – especially those who dislike you, reject you, or who you feel are your competition in some way?
How much of your life is built on the facades of a projected image that belies who you really are?
God and all of heaven knows who you are beyond the veil of your projected motives.
*** Everything you do to exalt yourself will one day bring you the most terrible humiliation.
*** The times that you use people for your own purposes or to further your own ambitions, or to make yourself look better will cascade upon your on the day of judgment and there will be bitter grief.
*** The more you accept people’s praises and the more you live for their praises to gain power over them, the more you drift from the path of true life.
*** God’s truth often brings pain as it a problem that we have, but His truth will always show us the way to freedom, too. When you know this you will even begin to rejoice in your trials, which are allowed to keep you on the path of life.
I know it is difficult to see the corruption of our souls but it is very profitable for you only on this wise: do not use these things to dwell on yourself, or seek to justify yourself with dead works, but turn to the Lord continually. As you do the veils will be removed ( 2 Cor. 3:16).
Let us pray:
“Heavenly Father, forgive us. We can hardly recognize our blindness, our self-absorption, and our preoccupation with ourselves, until we come into Your Light and behold Your Glory. Only then can You restore us to Your original intent and purpose. Even in all our attempts to develop ourselves spiritually, we have been more concerned about how it benefits us instead of how it would bring You glory.”
“For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light” (Ps. 36:9).
